PORTFOLIO: OTHER: Honeychurch Antiques
Seattle Design Center Northwest Design Award | Retail 2004
Honeychurch Antiques opened their Seattle gallery in 1977. By 2004 the owners sought to relocate from their First Hill location to a more accessible space in Seattle's South Lake Union district. The 6,400 square foot warehouse was gutted and converted into an elegant exhibition space for a collection of fine Asian antiques. The stucco façade features two large display windows and a post and lintel entry alcove with patinated steel panels. The interior includes a central exhibition room for themed exhibits, four gallery rooms for display, an office and library space, and ample storage facilities with a loading dock to accommodate the ever-changing collection.
